Our New Project

Libraries Without Borders, in partnership with Friends of the Anoka County Library, is working in Fridley, Minnesota to expand basic literacy and digital literacy programs within the Park Plaza Cooperative, a manufactured housing community. Our program provides a hotspot connection, computers, and iPads (already pre-downloaded with educational and career-focused resources), books, arts and crafts activities, and furniture in the community’s storm shelter. The model for this program is based on our successful Wash and Learn Initiative (WALI), where we scale literacy programs to the waiting rooms of laundromats. However, while WALI focuses on an inner-city target audience, this new initiative is designed for suburban and rural communities--specifically for those living in manufactured housing communities.

Please support this project by donating through the link below, it would be incredibly helpful! We would also like to express our profound gratitude to EveryLibrary’s Fund Library for giving us a platform to raise funds.
