Libraries Without Borders (BSF-US) is a 501(c)3 branch of Bibliothèques Sans Frontières (BSF), an international organization with global headquarters in Paris, France. Founded in 2007, BSF-US has offices in the District of Columbia, San Francisco, and Baltimore.



Libraries Without Borders (BSF-US) works to ensure that regardless of their circumstances, people throughout the world can live with dignity and the opportunity to thrive through access to information, education and culture.


BSF-US promotes access to information for under-served adults and children in the US and around the world. We develop new models and tools that lower barriers for people to access relevant and reliable information.
