Our Impact
The American branch of Bibliothèques Sans Frontières, serving US communities since 2014. We center people who have been systematically excluded — economically disadvantaged communities, racial and ethnic minorities, immigrants, and refugees.
We remove barriers between families and libraries — books in WIC offices and laundromats, library cards in schools, digital skills training, and cultural preservation — plus expert consulting that strengthens library systems themselves.
Community-led, place-based, evidence-informed, and justice-oriented. We meet people where they already are, track meaningful outputs and outcomes, and design every program so the community — and its library — sustain it without us.
Independent research
Children at Wash & Learn laundromats engaged in literacy activities 30 times more than at comparison sites.
Statewide adoption
After our six-library pilot, CT State Library extended the strategies to all 190 libraries across the state.
